Fort Wayne, Ind. – This week’s continuance in a high-profile case for which jurors will be pulled from Allen County has resulted in the cancellation of summonses sent to 400 people.
Individuals called for potential jury duty in State of Indiana v. Richard M. Allen were to have appeared for court the week of May 13-17. Those individuals are no longer required to appear.
Notices to those potential jurors have gone out in the mail. When they call the Allen Superior Court Jury Office before the trial was to have started, as directed in the summonses they received, they will also hear an automated message alerting them to cancellation of the May trial date.
Individuals who received summonses for the May trial date will not be called again for the rescheduled trial, now set to begin in October.
